All Stars

The Dunboyne GAA All Stars is our inclusive team: a GAA programme that provides games for children with physical, intellectual and sensory additional needs.

It is part of the GAA’s inclusion initiative, and our All Stars team has grown from strength to strength. Our All Stars play on the astro pitch beside the clubhouse, supported by a team of dedicated volunteers.

New players are always welcome.

What is All Stars?

01

Games for every child

A GAA programme designed to provide games for children with physical, intellectual and sensory additional needs.

02

Fun and participation

The emphasis is on fun and taking part. Games are modified to suit the capabilities of the participants, allowing for broader engagement.

03

A safe environment

A safe, welcoming place for children with additional needs who may not be able to take part in typical team games.

Life as an All Star

The All Stars programme has become an important part of our community. It was recognised at the Mansion House by BPerfect’s “Gift of Presence”, an event about what it means to be present and active in your community, honouring the All Stars and the work of the volunteers who make it happen.

Playing in Croke Park

A trip of a lifetime: the All Stars travelled by bus to play on the Croke Park pitch, togged out in their All Star jerseys and cheered on by parents, grandparents and coaches. For some of the children it was their first time on a bus.

Meeting the camogie champions

Members of our Leinster Camogie Club Championship-winning team visited the All Stars and brought the cups along to meet the children.

Every season ends with a morning in the clubhouse, where each member of the squad is presented with a certificate.
