MHC Div2 Rd 2: St Peters Dunboyne 2:19 Killyon 1:11
Dunboyne minor hurlers sit pretty on top of Group B after a comprehensive victory over Killyon on Rooske this evening. Leading by ten at the break ensured a suitable and well deserved cushion after a free flowing and attacking first half where they outscored the visiting side by 2:10 to 0:06. The Dunboyne three county minors were imperious tonight at 6, 8 and 14, with Eoghan McDonald and Joel Managan grabbing the goals while Rory Callanan chipped over an impressive sideline cut midway through the 2nd half. Some excellent scores from play all through the 60 minutes warmed the hearts of the supporters and none more so than when the returning Shea Mooney pointed 2 minutes into the second half to the biggest roar of the evening. This was Sheas first game back after a spell on the sidelines with a broken collar bone and performed like he was never away. Unfortunately Shea went off during the second holding the same shoulder and we all hope its nothing too serious. Best of luck Shea!
This result guarantees them top spot in the group with one more game to play against the Saints and following that what should be a home semi final. Great work by DJ Coone and the rest of the management team on an excellent team performance.
