Junior Hurling Championship Co. Final.

Score: St. Peters 1 - 6 : Kiltale 2 - 14.

St. Peters came up against a very slick Kiltale side in the Co. Junior Hurling decider in Pairc Tailteann yesterday.

The black and amber found scores hard to come by in the 1st half. A Hack free opened our scoring, followed by Cathal Melia point. Kiltale had some wayward shooting, but lead 0 - 4 to 0 - 2 after 15 minutes.

Another Hack free & a Liam Callanan point still had Dunboyne trailing by 7 points at the break. This was reflective of the Kiltate dominance throughout the half.

Halftime Score: St. Peters 0 - 4 : Kiltale 1 - 8.

Dunboyne tried hard to manufacture scores early in the 2nd half but the stubborn Kiltale defence were having none of it and their forwards continued to keep the scoreboard ticking.

Points from Harry Healy & Hack were hard earned, a late Micksey Dunne goal was the highlight of the second half but Kiltale ran out 11 points winners. Niall Watters proved age is no barrier and put in a great shift at full back.

Though a disappointing conclusion to the Junior Hurlers Championship campaign, overall a very positive year with some great performances throughout the League and Championship.

Special mention to Dunboyne's one and only oil baron Ray Mitchell for his continued support to this group.

All attention now turns to our Intermediate Hurlers who play Kilskyre/Moylagh in their semi final in Trim on Saturday October 4th.
