H.T. Score: Rathmolyon 0 - 08 - St. Peters 0 - 09.
The 2nd half started with great gusto, some strong physical challenges, Junior Hurling at its finest. That man Hack got Dunboyne's first 3 scores, 1 from play & 2 frees.
Conor Gilmartin got the next point, and was a dynamo throughout at midfield. Rathmolyon drew level and went ahead with 20 minutes left. Frees were is scarce supply, despite some barbaric acts.
Rathmolyon introduced their bombsquad of 5 subs in one hit & ultimately this proved the difference down the home straight, despite Dunboyne's stout defence. Jason Nolan got another point, the black and amber bombarded the opposition goal for the last 5 minutes, but could not get the goal so badly needed & came up 4 points short after a good healthy tussle.
Tipperary native Shane Nolan made his 1st competitive start for the Club, between the posts. Well done to our still Minors, Shay Coone & Evan Murphy in the half forward line, didn't look one bit out of place & fed Hack the Bear with the ball he loves. Both young lads also bringing down the age profile of this outfit drastically.
Special mention to our man of the match wing back & soon to be wed Oisin O Dywer. A word of advise Oisin, marriage is an ongoing war with short outbreaks of peace!!
Thanks to Red Dunne for his invaluable advise on the sideline, management sprung the heavily strapped ex jockey & now referee for the last 15 minutes, as a non impact sub.
St. Peters: Shane Nolan, Darragh Callanan, Simon O Keeffe, Ben Madigan, Danny Kane, Andy Mcweeney, Oisin O Dwyer, Jason Nolan 0 - 03, Conor Gilmartin 0 - 01, Shay Coone, Niall Watters, Evan Murphy, Tom Leonard, Neil Hackett 0 - 11, (5 f's), Cillian Murphy for Red Dunne.
Next Game: Rd. 7 Home v Navan O Mahonys on Friday week, June 19th.
