JUNIOR HURLING RELEGATION PLAY OFF:

DUNBOYNE 4 -18 - KILLYON 0 - 08.

St. Peters hosted Killyon in Kepak Pk. under lights on Thursday evening in their Junior Relagation play off.

As the scoreline suggests, it was a dominant display by the black and amber, and arguably they kept their best display till last, when it mattered most.

Paul Graves opened the scoring, followed by a Joel Mangan point. Micksey Dunne got our next point before Killyon got on the scoreboard.

Ronan Conheady landed a huge point from 80 yards out on the sideline. Killyon got their 2nd, then Hack goaled. Mangan & Conheady both tacked on, another one each.

Killyon got 2 more scores before Mangan finished the scoring for the half, giving the home side a 1 - 10 to 0 - 04 lead at the break.

Dunboyne started the 2nd half with intent, a Micksey Dunne point followed by 2 quick fire goals by Mangan, put the outcome in no doubt.

The homeside rearguard spearheaded by Conor Deering at centre back were well on top as a unit & kept any sniff of danger at bay.

Killyon tacked on 2 points, followed by a Harry Healy point, Micksey D hammered home an unstoppable shot to the roof of the net.

Points followed from still minor Evan Murphy, Ciaran McCormack, Johno Harkin & Hack. A beauty of a sideline from Jason Nolan. Killyon got 2 points. Tom Leonard chipped in with his 2 to wrap things up.

A great squad effort, where 25 togged, this now concludes our Juniors campaign for 2026, with Junior status maintained.

All attention now turns to our Intermediates who play their Rd. 5 last group game v Rathmolyon in Batterstown at 5.00pm this Saturday evening.
